Chapter Nine A Revealing Encounter

The strangest thing happened at the site of the next and of all things…out came a rat!

Not any old rat, one wearing an off-white, silk leisure suit. He sported rhinestone-studded, dark glasses, oversized gold jewelry and enough cheap cologne to gag an army. Who could stand to be by his side and inhale this overbearing smell?

And look what else got out of the limousine: femme fatale, a la rat! For a rat, was she gorgeous… what a nice “piece of art” sauntering at his side!

Oh, look! This glitsy rat has a copy of my “Paint Your Soul” CD with the Solfeggio and Fibonacci tones twinkling in the background. And these fashionable couple the site of the next interview is going to the SomaEnergetics Center. Hmmm, I wonder if they want to learn more about the mysterious Solfeggio tones?

I wonder if this stylish rat could be Osborn Raticus, who spied on Wizard Jack and learned about all the marvelous gifts one can get from certain CDs and sound and light machines. Here’s my chance. I’ll try to interview this important-looking fellow and see who he is.

“Excuse me, sir,” I opened. “May I have a word with you?”

The rat adjusted his ring finger so that the sun reflected on a facet of his oversized ring.

Slowly, the rat began, “Since I learned about the magic of tones, my life has a rags to riches story.”

The rat’s finger, with the big ruby ring, reached up and tipped down his rhinestone sunglasses, revealing deep brown eyes. In those eyes I saw the Raticus of old.

“Oh, my, Osborn Raticus!” I gulped. “Is that you? Osborn Raticus! What are you doing? Dressed up like this and where is Mrs. Raticus?” I couldn’t help myself.

“Osborn, you used sound to feel and look younger. You used light and sound machines to increase your intelligence, you listened to Harold Moses’ CDs to increase your energy, you attended the Swamiji’s concerts to become healthier, but you forgot to use sound to lift your spirituality…unless you expect to be more spiritual by wearing more jewelry. To become more spiritual you should be more loving and exhibit gifts of the spirit,” I blurted out without thinking.

A sheepish Raticus waved my CD, “Paint Your Soul,” slowly in front of my face. “I am just beginning to learn about this benefit of sound. I need to visit my friend, David Hulse and learn about the mysterious Solfeggio tones.”

Raticus tipped his hat, looked down and turned his head. He disappeared into the SomaEnergetics Center. Like magic, the limousine was gone.
